For those of you who are familiar with regular Zumba classes, Zumba Sentao brings the same energy and cardio workout with the addition of the use of a chair.  By using a chair in Zumba, you are able to improve the strength, balance, and stability of your core muscles.  The use of your own body weight is utilized to take Zumba to a whole new level, so you can have a great workout while improving definition.  Zumba Sentao is a great option for anyone who is new to the Zumba world because on top of the exhilarating dance moves, Sentao also adds in some more traditional workouts like squats, lunges, pushups, and crunches. Sentao is a great combination of cardio dance fitness, strengthening, and toning exercises.

Zumba Sentao is a great workout for everyone, at all fitness levels, who wants to obtain a full body toning workout without spending hours at the gym. Not only will you sweat, its fast, fun, and you won’t even feel like your exercising at all!

How does it differ from normal Zumba?

Zumba Sentao is mainly different from regular Zumba because it uses a chair as a prop or “dance partner”. It also focuses more on toning and overall strength of the body.  With Zumba Sentao, you will likely end up working just as hard as you would in a regular Zumba class and you will likely be using different muscles than you would in other workouts.

How are the chairs used?

The chair in Zumba Sentao is mainly used as an aid for your workout.  You will work around the chair doing Zumba moves, and then use it to help you in body weight exercises to work the core.

What are the benefits?

Zumba classes in general are characterized by a high energy experience and a great cardiovascular workout that helps enhance your fitness.  Using a chair however, adds an additional level of strength work that helps define and strengthen muscles.  You should feel the workout in your abs and glutes while having a great time dancing!
